Color & Graphic Stories
A part of the process that I really love is exploring color and the graphic stories they can tell through products. Every season I would put together these boards with stories I found relative to the product that made for some unique color ways. Here are some examples of my process. Sometimes it's not just color, its trim execution and its graphics.
Example 1:
Jo Shimoda (a professional supercross rider) had an accident early in the race season. He had posted a picture of his injury which got a lot of attention and then I took inspiration from that image to create a color-way. Here I show colors I had picked out for a special color-way, the reason behind the colors, and a quote that best exemplified the attitude behind it. I added some imagery to help convey the color theme.
Example 2:
The Lunar MTB capsule at Fox is typically leaning on its reflective design language. I created an approach inspired by the energy of nature. A way to incorporate luminesce applications to the capsule. A different approach than previous seasons, tying back to the brand name from a fresh new angle.
Example 3:
Designing motocycle gear sets for Fox Racing is story driven, loud, and fast. Here are few of my favorite kits that didn't make the cut but held a special place in my heart. I believe sometimes the ones that don't make it can inspire you to make the ones that do.
